Vienna 2015: Semi final 2 rehearsed!

This blogger is slightly behind... opps! The 17 acts in semi final two have all rehearsed now. The countries getting the best reactions seems to be Azerbaijan, Poland and I'd say San Marino. Call me crazy but their performance appeared to me really strong. A shock qualifier? Even though the song isn't the best, I'd still like to see the microstate qualify. Montenegro's rehearsal was awesome too. I think Azerbaijan are winning this semi final and who knows, maybe the final too? The dancers are amazing, the backdrop is superb... They've spent a lot of money on this y'all! Elnur apparently had some technical problems though but that can be ironed out. Switzerland looks great on screen too. Meanwhile, I think Iceland looks fab! And no dancers - thank God!

Slovenia has received mixed reactions. There's some work to be done there me thinks. Ireland also seems to be getting a mixed reaction. Molly's great - we know this - so why does she need backing singers behind her? It looks weird. Hmm.. I still hope to see Ireland qualify though!

Elsewhere we have Cyprus and Czech Republic. Both songs I didn't see qualufrying but I think (and hope) I'll be wrong. Especially in the Czech Republic's case. They're really bringing it.

I'm underwhelmed with Norway. The backdrop is boring and it still seems that Deborah is having nerves on stage.. Oh and I love Portugal's hats!! Finally, let's talk about Sweden! The song you either love or love to hate. Måns Zelmerlöw is one of the favourties to win but his rehearsal has so many dislikes online and it seems people's opinions on the song are changing. I'm think Sweden will do well but who knows?

REVIEWING THE CLASS OF 2015: MONTENEGRO!

San Marino wasn't the only country to qualify for the first time last year - Montenegro did too, and it seems Knez's entry is going to continue this trend. Maybe. Here's what we think about Adio..

Ana: I was missing Balkan sounds when suddenly Montenegro appeared. It’s obvious that Željko Joksimović is behind this and it sounds great. I also love the fact that he sings in his own language. If Knez can pull it off live, in m opinion, Montenegro deserves the top 10. 9/10

Ilkar: This has all Joksimović trademarks: great orchestration and instruments, slow start that grown into a boombastic climax in the end. Great singer. Wonderful backing voices arrangement. What's there not to like if you like some Balkan pathos and ethnic vibe? Very similar to his previous ones but that's his style, why should he write something that's not him just because it's Eurovision? .5/10

Jack: Excellent! Željko Joksimović clearly composed the song and all of his efforts have been very successful in Eurovision - will Montenegro's 2015 entry continue that trend? Hope so. I really love this one. It's also wonderful that Knez is singing in native tongue.. if only other countries followed the same philosophy. Yes, I'm looking at YOU Serbia!! I wish Montenegro the best of luck! 9.5/10

Jess: I have to say I really do like this song, Knez is such a great singer! 7/10

John: Montenegro has sent a typical euro “joke song” to Eurovision once too often. Last year they sent a classy ballad but have really excelled themselves this year with a marvellous song by artist Knez. Fast becoming one of my favourites of 2015, I sincerely hope this effort will be appreciated and rewarded. 8/10

The official video-clip of Montenegro's entry has been released. Watch it here. As expected, it's stunning and could easily be a promotional video for Montenegro. I want to visit Montenegro now! It's gorgeous :-) 

Montenegro: Knez releases 'Adio'!

The last song for Eurovision 2015 was released this morning. Knez's Adio. As previously reported, Balkan legend Željko Joksimović composed the song. Is Montenegro's entry going to be a success in Vienna? It can go either way me thinks. Listen here.

Within the next couple of weeks, my introductory series will begin. I will be doing it very differently this year - I'll announce how it's all going to work at the weekend!

Montenegro: Knez to reveal 'Adio' on 21st March!

Montenegro was the first country to reveal their act, back in October, and now it appears the Balkan country will last to reveal their song - as Knez's song won't be presented until 21st March. As previously reported, Željko Joksimović will compose the song with lyrics by Dejan Ivanović and Marina Tucaković. Rumours say it is going to be an uptempo song.

Montenegro: Knez to Vienna!

The first participant for Eurovision 2015 has been revealed by the Montenegrin broadcaster! Nenad Knežević, widely known as Knez, will represent the country in Vienna. The 46 year old has released a total of 11 albums and several singles - he's a big name in Montenegro and neighboring countries. Knez appears to be a decent choice. No information on his Eurovision song yet although you can enjoy his latest single below:
