Spain: Marta Sánchez recorded and rejected 'Amanecer'

#Eurodrama. It's been revealed Marta Sánchez recorded Amanecer however soon after decided to reject it. According to those who have heard Marta's version, it was much stronger, different (whatever this means?) and had different lyrics. It was rumoured Loreen even said nej tack to the song back in 2013... Didn't anyone want it? Edurne's version didn't impress as she only came a rather underwhelming 21st place in Vienna earlier this year even though I feel she deserved to do better. Marta has said she wouldn't say no to representing Spain.. will we see her in Stockholm?

Spain: Mägo de Oz would love to sing at Eurovision!

Mägo de Oz are an established Celtic rock band and the groups founder - Txus di Fellatio - has said that representing Spain would be a great pleasure. They continued to say that even though rock music doesn't normally do well in the contest (uh, Lordi?), they want to sing for Spain in Stockholm. Mägo de Oz (Wizard of Oz) also said:

We have three or four years telling our label, Warner, to do everything possible to bring us to Eurovision because we believe that Spain in the Festival needs something new and fresh.

I think they would be both an interesting and daring choice. Maybe Marta Sánchez should team up with Mägo de Oz - now wouldn't that be something? :-)

Spain: Marta Sánchez to be chosen for Stockholm?

Marta Sánchez was hotly tipped to fly the Spanish flag in Vienna however due to other commitments, it didn't happen and Edurne got the gig. However the Spanish diva has expressed her interest in representing the land of sangria and sun in Sweden next year. Marta spoke to the magazine Diez Minutos where she said:

I do not rule out going to Eurovision with one of my songs or chosen by me 

Question is - will TVE ask her? I would absolutely love to see her on that stage in Stockholm next year. She's brilliant and with the right song, could give Spain their best shot in years. Enjoy some of her music below..

Spain: Marta Sánchez denies participation!

Speculation regarding Marta Sánchez's participation in Vienna has been growing daily but the singer has put an end to it all today. She posted a message on her Facebook and this is what she had to say about Eurovision:

I am very grateful to all these days you have encouraged me to represent Spain in the contest, but the truth is that I never received the slightest proposal by its organizers.Eurovision is a unique event where participating artists I respect a lot and a production like few TV shows give, as confirmed by the Ondas award it received this year. But no, I 'm not the artist who will represent Spain this year.In any case, whoever is elected, I wish them well and hope for a great success leaving Spain in a good position.

So will Edurne be the one? Or could it be someone completely different?

Spain: Reports say Marta Sánchez to Vienna!

Spanish media reports 48 year-old Marta Sánchez will represent Spain. It seems she's accepted the offer from TVE and an official announcement is due next week. Her biggest hits include De Mujer A Mujer and Superstar. Marta's seventh album is expected to be released later this year - will it feature the Spanish entry for 2015?
